Youth Performance Company fuels the creative spirit of young people by empowering and advancing young artists. Through direct programming that includes productions, classes, inschool residencies, community appearances, and a leadership development component, YPC provides affordable and meaningful arts experiences for Twin Cities families, children, and teens.
Our Mission
We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to develop creativity in a respectful, challenging, safe environment.
The skills learned through arts participation are essential to healthy child development, bringing self-esteem and a better chance for success in adult life.
Now in our 21st year, YPC is the only theater company in the Twin Cities that is committed to offering teens unprecedented leadership opportunities in theater and teaching them core values of creativity, responsibility, and quality—while simultaneously providing Twin Cities families with affordable arts opportunities for youth.
Why We Need a New Website
Families and tees are turning to the internet to find education and entertainment opportunities - our website is functional - but it does not represent the true spirit of our young artists and our work. YPC needs an online presences that effectively represents the quality and diversity of our programming. (in an easy to maneuver, family-friendly way).
How Our New Site Will Help Make the World Greener
Our existing mailing list is ineffective and a waste of resources (paper, time, money etc). We are working towards an online marketing presence with email newsletters, etc. An innovative, fresh website that encouraged our patrons to follow our programming online will help us to reduce the waste of bulk mailings and other ineffective marketing tools.
When the judges choose which non-profits will be selected to participate in this year's Challenge they will take into account testimonials from beneficiaries, donors, volunteers, board members and other
Youth Performance Company is an awesome organization that has changed my life. I performed in my first play there when I was fifteen, and in the eight years since then, I've had invaluable experiences and made amazing friends that will be with me for life. Please help them reach even more young people with a new website!
Rita Cannon, beneficiary/volunteer
HELP THEM PLEASE!!!! YPC is the greatest resource for teens in this community. They do amazing - important-fabulous work--that makes people think-inspires others to change or think in bigger and better ways. YPC's matra is "Be BOLD"--they need a website that shouts that out to the universe. I mean--the world needs people to be BOLD and fearless--now more than ever. Be BOLD and make YPC's website ROCK!!!!

You should have seen the site a few months ago... YPC made some huge web strides in the last year getting into a new CMS and adding a few flash photos, but while heavy on creativity, this organization lacks the resources to push farther into the digital space. They are open to new ideas and approaches and have great photos and videos that are just waiting for someone to promote. YPC does not have any dedicated marketing or web staff and would really benefit from the help of a few Nerds (or web gurus). Bring it on....

What a great improvement! The site now looks professional while maintaining it's fun factor. Anything that can help our most important resource: young people stay creative is a huge win. Please help the Youth Performance Company!

It's time to put the "fun" back in our dysFUNctional website!
We need to:
*provide an awesome site that represents the amazing young artists at YPC and the work we do
*make it easy for staff and young artists to update
*utilize it for marketing our shows and films
*post newsletters, press releases, communicate to those who haven't heard of us in a bold way (just like everything else we do at YPC!)
*easily find a way to link our site to other organizations and their sites to help promote our shows, classes, school residencies
And we can't do it alone so please help us (we love caffeine and working long hours in front of the glow of our computer screens, so it's a perfect match).

YPC does terrific stuff for the community and teens. They win lots of awards - two Iveys, Chris, Best of, two CINE Golden Eagles - and more. So, they are pretty special and I am on the board because I love them, their work, their passion and I help out when and where I can. Well, let's face it, we need your help because uncool old fogeys on the board like me are so tech-impared that we can't help this wonderful company go where they need to go in the cyber galaxy and beyond . . .

Youth Performance Company is one of the rare organizations who still holds true to their belief that children and young artists come first. I continue to witness YPC's devotion in bringing the little light out of each child. The internet has become our window to the world. If we can't be in California, the internet will bring California to us. If you can't be with friends and family overseas, a simple connection online will put us in the same room. YPC needs an easy, interactive, user-friendly website that will bring a community of artists and their supporters to one place. Please help us make that happen.
